Perpetual Adoration
In 1983, our former pastor Father Victor Bieberle opened the first adoration chapel in the diocese at Blessed Sacrament Church under the guidance of Father Martin Lucia. Our chapel has been continuous since its inception. The Blessed Sacrament is exposed 24 hours a day, every day of the year, except Good Friday through Holy Saturday. (To commemorate the death of Our Lord on Good Friday, Catholic churches throughout the world remove exposition of the Blessed Sacrament on Good Friday through Holy Saturday.)
The Adoration Chapel is located at the east entrance of the church. The chapel is open to everyone, any time of day, for any length of time. Individuals and families commit to one hour each week on an ongoing basis. Every hour of every day must have someone scheduled to be with our Eucharistic Lord. Two families may share an hour if a weekly commitment is not possible. Names can also be added to our substitute list. We strive to have at least two people scheduled for each hour to prevent problems when emergencies arise. Click here to read more about Eucharistic Adoration.
Our Lord asks "Could you not spend one hour with me?"
