Students returned to Blessed Sacrament School ready to tackle its many academic challenges and joys. Providing the excellent teachers, updated technologies, and educational opportunities for the students is an ever-increasing financial burden. The parish is responsible for the school and maintaining the high standards that make Blessed Sacrament School a standout institution.

Every parishioner can help offset some of these costs for education by taking advantage of the Scrips/Dillons card program. There is really no cost to supporting this program for you. Each time the card is used, a portion of the purchase price is given to our school in the form of a rebate. The amount of the rebate varies from business to business.

If you’re planning on giving a gift card for shopping at one of our locally owned or national chain retailers or a restaurant, please consider purchasing that gift card through the Scrips program. A gift card to a national chain retailer is a welcome gift for most people and so easy if you want to send a gift to an out-of-town friend or relative.

Another simple way to provide some financial support to the school is through the use of a Dillons gift card. You purchase the card for $5.00. Then go to the customer service desk of any Dillons to “load” any amount up to $500 on the card. The original $5.00 purchase price will be added to the card amount. Then just shop for groceries, prescription drugs, gas…anything Dillons sells…and use your card. It’s so easy to just slide the card through the card reader. You don’t even have to sign a form. The sales receipt always gives you the balance of your card, so you’ll know how much you have to spend before “loading” the card again. You can “load’ the Dillons card as often as you wish. (at our house, we’ve been using the Dillons card for several months and really enjoy the convenience.)

You can purchase the gift/Dillons cards after the 9:00 Sunday Mass in Bishops Hall or go to the school office during school hours.

Parishioners have a long history of rallying to meet parish needs and your use of this program can bring in thousands of dollars for use in Blessed Sacrament School. Please take advantage of this opportunity for found money for the school.

Scrip is simply a word that means “substitute money”-in other words, scrip is gift certificates from national and local retailers.  It's the fundraising program that works while you shop. They are the same gift certificates that you buy at the store.  Many popular retailers participate in our scrip program including Applebees, Sears, Blockbuster, Kohl's, Best Buy, Walgreens and many, many others. To see our complete list, please click here.

You are probably asking yourself how these stores help us raise money.  It’s simple—scrip participating retailers agree to sell gift certificates to our organization at a discount.  Member families like yours buy the certificates for full face value, they redeem them for full face value, and our school keeps the difference as revenue.  And scrip is exciting because everybody wins:

  • The retailer gets cash up front and repeat business…
  • You get a powerful fundraising alternative that involves no selling…
  • Our school gets a regular source of revenue

The beauty of scrip is that you put your regular household shopping dollars to work.  You earn money for our school without spending a single additional penny.  Just spend your regular shopping dollars with scrip at the stores that participate in the scrip program!  And scrip can be used for just about any household purchase including food, clothing, entertainment, gasoline, and even dining out.

If you have any questions or would like to buy a card, please e-mail Donna Baldessari by clicking here or see Michelle, Mary Lou, or Mona in the school office.
